Come join us this spring for our exciting new sustainable floristry 5-week workshop at Longniddry Steading

In Bloom Studio florist is nestled in the heart of the village, surrounded by the beauty of the apple trees and waterfall. Immerse yourself over 5 evenings in all things floral and learn the skills you need to be more eco-conscious in your flower arranging.

All the materials you require are included as well as all the beautiful Blooms supplied by our grower Anne Smith at McConnell Blooms.

Each week Anne will select the best blooms and foliage grown from her cutting garden in Perthshire ready to be used in our workshop.

  • Introduction to Sustainable Floristry, understanding flower care, basic design principles and how to select the perfect blooms for your display.

    Arranging a spring jar display using locally grown flowers from McConnell Blooms, Amaranthus and In Blooms Cutting Garden.

  • Creating a spring wreath with seasonal flowers, foliage and bulbs that will grow on your door over the months.

  • Learning about floral form to create harmonious and appealing compositions. We will look at shapes, lines, colour and texture to help you create beautiful natural arrangements.

    Create a spring bowl arrangement using locally grown flowers and reusable mechanics.

  • Learning the art of a loose natural, foam-free hand-tied bouquet with spiralled stems.

    The finishing touches on how to present your flowers as a gift or just in the home with recyclable papers and ribbons.

  • Demo - flower meadow making!

    Create your flower meadow in a rustic container perfect to adorn any dining table finished with a group celebration of cocktails/mocktails and reflection on the last 5 weeks
